Do Not Move Here!

We were really quite excited when we initially moved into Woodbury Villas. Unfortunately, the day that we moved in we began to have problems. Our lease was completely screwed. Arrangements that we had made prior to move-in were ignored and the office staff pretty much had the attitude of "take it or leave it. The woman who prepared your lease no longer works here." Of course, our moving truck was in the parking lot, so "leaving it" wasn't an option. It was discovered shortly after we moved in that the entire furnace compartment was infested with mold. By this time our roomate who lived in the 2nd bedroom with the furnace compartment was ill -- they claimed to fix the problem by spraying it once with something and never checking the area again. We had outlets that didn't work and were never fixed and the ceiling above our washer and dryer units began to leak and get soaked with water that was stagnating above. The solution for this was to spray paint the area.
The office then decided to charge us for water(which was originally included). Our rent wasn't reduced however, even though we were now covering this expense. This was in addition to the 150$ DTE electric bill that we recieved every month, which seemed exhorbitant to us as well as most of the people that we consulted. Woodbury, however, refused to send someone out to check our appliances to determine whether they were faulty or not and using more electricity than they were supposed to.
Last, but not least, the office retained our entire 1095$ security deposit, charging $28 dollars for a plastic door handle that was broken when we moved in and held together with a Kroger's Savings Club Card. We were also charged for molding that was broken when we moved in. If you value your time, money, or standard of living -- Don't Move to Woodbury Villas!
