Old buildings, but cheap and convenient

Spicetree Apartments aren't the worst place in the world, but they aren't the best. The buildings are old and it shows, and there clearly haven't been many updates over the years as the kitchen looks like a 1970 design. We've had a couple of maintenance issues, though thankfully maintenance is friendly and responsive to issues. I've seen a lot of reference to crime. If you're coming from a small town you might be freaked out, but if you're from a city you know to keep your doors locked. The buildings all have locked entrances (this, I understand, is a relatively new feature) so apartment security issues should be minimal. It's one of the cheapest places in town so you often get the kind of people that can only afford that. But there are a lot of good people at the complex, too, and like it because it's in an extremely convenient location a mile from the expressway, a mall, and good restaurants as well as right on a bus line.
