Spicetree Apartments

well i'm coming to the end of my 12 month lease at spicetree and i am glad for the experience to be over. The apartments themselves were not all that bad, albeit a little old fashioned in their design. my main issues involved the management, more than a little unqualified to be in control of the housing situations of so many people. everything from lost rent checks to week long delays on simple household maintenance. The maintenance personnel themselves seemed qualified and friendly enough. But management seemed to take the attitude that i owed them something for living in their low-rent complex. Parking was plentiful and none of my guests had their cars towed (an all to familiar story to many a college age renter) the grounds were kept up decently though a little tacky and i had no overbearingly awful construction to deal with. the new roof my building received was done quickly and did not interfere with my comings and goings. Also some poor woman got robbed outside my building if safety is your number one concern definatly not your first choice. I enjoyed being so close to a2 and Ypsi but location alone will not be enough to keep me at spicetree any longer. If your looking for inexpensive housing spicetree is an option, but i would point you to any of the many other complexes (i.e. evergreen, golfside) if you do head to the tree though be assertive with mgmt from the get go.
