Spruce Knob, the only thing good about you was the quiet neighborhood across the street. Maintenance was less than competent. They are supposed to get approval from you before entering your apartment. This was not the case. There were 2 separate occasions that maintenance walked right into my apartment when my boyfriend and I were in bed sleeping, when we never authorized their entrance. Then, when we set up appointment times to have maintenance come by for simple fixes, they never showed up (2 out of 3 times). Another time, maintenance came to fix the light fixture in the kitchen, all seemed well until it fell from the ceiling and shattered in the middle of the night. Later I found out this was due to a maintenance error. The common areas my building were never cleaned. McKinley pays for a cleaning service, they clean the windows, but never picked up the trash in the halls. They say they offer free wireless internet, however, it only worked about 50% of the time. We brought this to the attention of management, we were given a phone number and were told it had nothing to do with them. When it came time to renew our lease, they wanted to raise our rent. The apartments are tiny and are not worth what they are asking for. Things were falling apart left and right. They say they have a dog park, really its more like a kennel and you can't even throw a ball for your dog. The management didn't know my name after living there for a year (sad)

We decided that the cons well outweighed the pros and moved to the other side of Ann Arbor where we were able to get a much better apartment, much better maintenance, much better management staff for a small increase in rent (less than $100). I would not recommend living here.
