I cannot believe any of the cheery reviews listed below. Traverknoll has been the worst living experience of my life, causing plenty emotional distress. Maybe it's the management trying to paint a pretty picture of a living NIGHTMARE (I'd use harsher language if I wouldn't be censored). Sorry this is so long, but it barely touches on my disatisfaction.

My kitchen and bathroom have been leaking since I moved in, 9 months ago. No response from the mgmt., even though I've personally shown up at the leasing office at least six time to report the problem. The old mgmt. would have known me by name and fixed the problem immediately. The first week I move in was the only time I saw maintainence: to fix my dishwasher and my new kitchen floor. The dishwasher was never installed properly, slanted and unflush with the cabinets, but the tile too is coming up.

Many nights there is no parking in sight, anywhere near my building. That's great when I've just been on a long vacation with tons of luggage to unload in pouring rain.

Construction that occured for months made NO improvements to the basements: still as darn filthy as ever, laundry machines still don't work and are overpriced. The work was not worth being woken up to extremely loud banging/sawing/diging right outside my window at 8AM every day for what seemed like months of little or no sleep. The worst was being woken by crews at 5:45AM on MLK Day, believe it or not. Despite this wretched living condition, the mgmt was always chipper which bothered the heck out of me.

The new management is rude, unhelpful, and condescending. Through all the construction mess, the office sent us plesant letters telling us how nice the new drain tiles would be for us all. I'd rather just get a good night's sleep.

Although I'm a student, there are many families with small children. I'm not a grinch, but I like to sleep in past 7:00AM on the weekends, when the rugrats are out in full force, screaming at the tops of their lungs, with no parental supervision intervening ever. So if I'm up studying until 2AM, there's no possible way to sleep more than five hours. Also, the noise often continues throughout the day: every time I need a nap in the afternoon: SCREAMING KIDS and SLAMMING DOORS.

It's May and the heat is still on. All winter we used the heat twice, there's enough radiant heat that we didn't need it. I have no control over that, but there's still no AC, and it's unplesant to have windows open trying to desperately stay cool when: I have severe allergies and the smell of cigarette smoke from nearby apts. and stinking garbage from inadequate dumpsters fill my room.

Off to go clean up the dirty water that's spilling all over my kitchen now.

Unfortunately, the ratings below, which I've marked "1" for each, do not begin to describe how horrible the situation is. For instance "poor landscaping and upkeep" is an understament for muddy patchy grass, trampled landscaping (from the construction) and crumbling pavement.

Further, note that the vast majority of the "good" and above ratings were listed prior to 2005, under the old management, which I agree was great. I think if the old ratings were dismissed, the current management would get maybe a low 20% satisfaction.

A few weeks later: They finally turned the AC on for about a week. It's off again now for repairs apparently, thought it was working fine before. That means it's 80 degrees in here again, I'm working up a sweat watching TV.
