A great place

I've been living at Valley Ranch for the past 5 months and I have been so happy with my decision. Before I moved to Ann Arbor, I spent a long time searching for an apartment. I tend to be pretty picky. I was looking for a safe, spacious, and gorgeous apartment with washer/dryer in each apt, and that is exactly what I found. From the moment I walked into the clubhouse I was satisfied. The staff was extremely friendly answered 101 questions, and was extremly patient. We even worked out a deal to paint my apartment, but since I wasn't living in Ann Arbor before move-in I just had to send the paint swatch and they took care of it. Maintenance has answered any need urgent or not within 24 hours.
I live on the first floor and can hear the person above me walking around and opening/closing closet doors, no conversations or TV sounds. But, I don't know that there is any way around it. The actual apartment is one of the largest single bedrooms I could find. Everyone that has visited has been very impressed. There is plenty of storage space. Heat doesn't seem to escape. However, my bedroom doesn't seem to get as warm as the rest of the place. The ktichen may be small, but definitely adequate.
I do feel safe, the area is generally quiet and relatively secluded. If your apartment is closer to I-94 you could probably hear the traffic. The location is great, right near a Target, grocery store, and about 15 minutes from downtown Ann Arbor or UofM central campus.
The clubhouse is nice. The gym has relatively new treadmills and an eliptical. You can even watch TV while you workout.
It has snowed a few times and the parking lot and sidewalks have been cleared before I head out at 7 am.
Overall 9 out of 10, a bit pricey, but you get what you pay for.
