Not luxury, but acceptable

Years at this apartment: 2007 - 2009
I have lived here for 2 yrs and can say that I am generally satisfied. The grounds are well kept and parking is never a problem. I agree with other posts that the apartments are aging. We had several water leaks when we first moved in. Maintenance always came to fix them, but it's irritating to have to deal with. The maintenance staff is friendly and honest. I agree that it would be wonderful if we could bypass the office and contact maintenance directly.
I haven't had noise issues; however, it is because our neighbors are great. We had one loud neighbor who was only there for a short time. We could hear everything! If you plan on moving in, I suggest talking to your future neighbors if you are worried about noise.
Every spring/summer we have carpenter ants, but they are good about calling pest control for us. They come about twice (once at the beginning and once at the end) and we don't see them anymore.
The units aren't very energy efficient so we end up putting plastic over the windows every winter. I don't ever recall having a problem with snow removal.
I think the best thing about this place is that it's safe. I feel completely comfortable taking a walk at night. There have been a few times when i forgot to lock my car or apt. and nothing has been touched. The apartments aren't nearly as great as they are advertised to be, but they are acceptable given what's available at a similar price in other safe parts of Ann Arbor.
