canceled my lease because of a job relocation two years ago. my roommate got a new lease done with just her name on it. today we got a call from the collection agency saying that we owe them 15,000! first of all she moved out after a few months because of job relocation issues as well. clearly ended lease with paper work and all. now i have collections calling telling me i need to stop acting like a child as they are making me cry by telling me they will get the 15000 thaT I OWE SINGH APARTMENTS. when i lived their the management was rude but professional enough for me to trust them. when i thought about moving and just asked about options of getting out of the lease they were extremely NICE and HELPFUL with helping me end the lease since my roommate was more than willing to renew a new lease. untill I got this $15000 call that has ruined my life.

Honey, fight it in a court of law. If you vacated the property, and you have a lease stating when you were supposed to move out, they can't do a whole lot to you. Good luck...apartment owners are buttholes.
