I rent from one of the private condo owners and the experience has been great. The condo interior is upgraded more than any other place I've ever lived - bamboo floors, granite counter tops, renovated throughout. When I have maintenance issues, I call the owner and she takes care of everything. The condo is close to freeways and the local universities. I pay a little more than my neighbors who rent from the condo development (non-renovated apartments) but the money is well worth the quality and service from my landlord.
