I've lived at Lake Village for about 9 months and HATE it!! The management and maintenance staff are terrible! They had to do some work in my apartment and asked us to move to a furnished apartment for one week. We did, with the impression that some slight work had to be done. We were told to bring only what we needed for the week. On Monday evening I noticed a giant black tarp over my bedroom window, so I called in Tuesday to inquire why it was there. Apparently, they had to move all belongings out of my bedroom to gut it! During that process, apparently, they decided to play with my unmentionables, steal an old debit card and planner, and try to get a membership at match.com on my dime! Sweet, right' I complained to the management again on Saturday, after coming home Friday to find the door to my apartment open, with nobody inside or around, and all of my sensitive, personal, and identifying information stacked haphazardly on the kitchen table! The incompetent staff members refused to call the manager and even went so far as to say it was my fault that my stuff got messed with because I had left it there! I finally got to speak with the manager a few days later, when I had the police meet me there to file the police report, and she was not apologetic at all. In fact, they even accused me of making the whole thing up to get out of my lease! Everything was going "okay" up until this debacle, but because of it, I have to recommend that you find somewhere else to live. Your privacy and safety should NEVER be compromised like this, and if it is, you'd think they would at least have the sense to apologize and attempt to remedy the situation, not deny they had ANY part in ANY of it (even after their staff admitted that they had forgotten to check if the apartment was locked when they left on Friday at 4:30, not knowing that one of the management staff had previously lied to me to cover them, saying they'd left around 5:30-6...)! Just unbelievable, in every sense of the word.

I was thinking about moving here, but I will not now. I hope everything goes better for you. As for me, I don't need the headache.

Thanks to all of the feedback and comments I decided that Lake Village is not the place for me. The apartment complex that I live in now is pure hell and the possibility of moving somewhere equally as bad scares me. Thanks for all of the helpful comments.
