If you were not aware, this place has black mold! If you do not know the dangers of black mold, I suggest you look it up on the internet. To name a few. . .lung damage, heart failure, seizures, death, learning disabilities in children. Black mold is caused by the constant dampness from leaks. With the shoddy construction of these apartments they have several leaks. Also, the apartments were built on wetlands creating the perfect condition for black mold to grow. The management (---) and upper management (--- and -----) of this property are fully aware of this problem. A construction project in the summer of 2007 was done to try and alleviate the cause and problem of this black mold, however the company that was hired to do the work was not certified in black mold remediation and did not get rid of the mold, just took out the affected drywall. Therefore the real problem is not gone. They just wanted the quick, cheap fix or you might say cover up. Speaking of coverup I had a neighbor that knew of a resident that moved out mid-lease because she found out about the black mold issue because her children were constantly ill. I also heard that management did not charge her for breaking her lease, put her up in a hotel and possibly even paid to help her move into another complex.
If you have not moved in yet, don't. if you already live here, don't resign your lease. Tell your friends and let's show Lake Village that cheaters never prosper. Give your business to the apartment complexes that don't lie to get your money. Let's be honest, apartment living is never going to be great. Necessary, yes, but great, no. To advertise yourself as a luxury community and not deliver on any of the promises and knowingly put people's health in danger is not acceptable. They charge way too much for a "product" that doesn't even come close to what it claims to be.
If you read the other posts here you will see all of the problems such as bug issues, shoddy maintenance staff (except for ----), the large move out bills for unnecessary repairs, the break ins, the lack of safety in the community, substandard construction of the apartments in general, unfriendly staff and management, aggressive breed dogs that are allowed in the community despite what they tell you and so on.
Also, don't believe the good reviews, as it is in the job description for the staff to go on and give good reviews so that the ratings are not that bad.
