They will charge you most of your deposit when you move out

I lived here for one year, and it is just ok (old carpet and old appliances). But when I moved out, they charged me most of the deposit for some "invisiable" damages.
When I informed them that I will move out, I was told that I just need to turn in the keys and I don't need to do any other things. I moved out 3 weeks before the lease ending date, and then I still spent over one week to clean the apartment. Finally they still charged me most of the deposit regardless my efforts (I was never charged any deposit by my two previous landlords because I always maintained the apartment well and clean).
It is a disappointing experience, and it is an expensive lesson for me.
I tried to contact them, but the staff are very rude to me(the manage there don't talk to you, and the other staffs will hang your phone rudely). I don't want to waste my time and energy to try to get my deposit back, and have to move on with it. But I felt very sad, especially because of their rude attitude.
I hope anyone who plan to live there or currently live there can learn from my lesson.
In case you might have to live there, it is not too late put ANY details in the check-in list and take PICTURES as the proof of existing damages.
DO NOT trust the staffs there when you move in. They seems easygoing when you move in, but will become unbelieveablly rude when you move out.

It is interesting.
I don't see any inappropriate/dirty words from the anonymous resident. The suggestion to keep the proofs when checking in seems very helpful, because the landlord confirms the necessity in the reply. To me, the resident's comment is actually a very reasonable one, considering the resident's disappointment due to the loss of most of his/her security deposit.
The reply from "meadowbrookvillage" (should be a manager from the landlord), however, seems very unfriendly (due to the pressure of low rating?), and trying to make people believe it is all the resident's faults.
In this case, I would rather to doubt this landlord's credit. I believe other readers will have the same feeling after reading the two interesting posts.
Just my 2 cents to the landlord: After all, your rating is mostly depended on how you treat your residents. The rating will not go up by itself if you don't realize the problem on your own side.

The rating is 100% correct. I used to live there too. The office staff are rude and careless. They do keep your deposit for appliance that did not work before you moved. There appliances are really old and not working properly and they end up charging you for a 40 or older appliances that never worked in a first place. They take pictures of random stuff. They have to change the carpets and paint regardless once a tenant moves after 2 years, but they will still charge you. The resident's review is helpful and accurate for everyone who are in search of apartment. AVOID this place and the office management. They are unbelievable. I hope no one goes through what we past tenants have been through with these unprofessional, bad behaved staff.
