We've been here for a couple of weeks now and things are going well. The apartment (townhouse) is huge compared to other two bedrooms and comes complete with a full, private basement. There is the option for a bedroom balcony, enclosed kitchen porch, or living room gas fireplace. We like our big balcony.

A few things to mention. There are a ton of kids around that play and ride their bikes all over the place. We enjoy watching them tumble over each other, playing football and tag, but they do get noisy at times. However, the in-to-out insulation is excellent at blocking outside noises. A train line runs about a mile away which is barely audible, but the complex sits right on the airport approach line. We hear the planes coming in over our heads, but don't mind it all that much. We havent' been awoken by them at night or anything like that.

The neighborhood could leave a little to be desired. There's literally nothing around. Urbandale is a couple miles to the west and downtown Battle Creek is a mile or two to the east. This side of Battle Creek and Springfield (to the south) is shady in these areas and isn't the safest, but Urbandale is probably one of the better neighborhoods. So, it's a tossup that way.

Access to other areas in or around town is pretty direct, however. The Linear Park trail also runs RIGHT through the complex, making for a good place to walk, bike, or whatever into town or out to Fort Custer recreational park. The Arboretum is behind the complex, which is a large forested park.

We have yet to request maintenance or deal with a problem with the office staff.
