Oakbrook Apartments are now known as The Arbors of Battle Creek. They are under entirely new management, run by a leasing company named Aimco. I recently moved in here, and have not had any of the problems listed by other reviewers.
It is reasonably quiet, the hallways are very secure, and I have not had any problems with any breaking and enterings. The landscaping and pools are clean and well kept, and the gym is newly remolded, featuring lots of new and up to date equipment.
I pay $479.00 per month for a one bedroom, one bath basement apartment. The management covers the cost of water, sewer, and garbage. As an incentive, upon moving in, I was given the rest of the current month free ( which was almost the entire month - I moved in on May 7th) and the next month free as well.
This is a very good apartment community now, regardless of the past condition it may have been in. I'd recommend it to anyone.
