I had a 12 month lease and tried to work out a pro-rated extra day to allow for a Saturday move out. No dice, they demanded I pay for the entire month at the month-to-month rate. I said they could have my deposit to cover the extra day, but no more. They've filed a collections claim 3 months later. Judge me if you will, but technical law or not, they should have enough business sense to know how to work with a tenant and not draw out every penny they can. Hence, I'm giving this warning for the benefit of anyone who would risk their own money. Because, simply put if they can't deal with an extra day, they won't care about tenants needs at any other time. I never really needed repairs, but their total lack of response was clear to many other residents I talked to. There was even a review by a former leasing employee that stated they were instructed to "say anything" to get people to sign. I did because of a rebated lease amount. If I had known what they were like beforehand, I wouldn't have ever talked to them.
