DON'T DO IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Years at this apartment: 2005 - 2005
I lived here a few years ago, and if I would have known then what I know now, I sure wouldn't have done it. The rent wasn't a bad price, but then you have to add in all the other utilities. My gas bill was at least $150 in the winter months. I was a student at Eastern, and all my money was going straight into this apartment. That's just technicalities that everyone should know, but my horror story is this... There ended up being a fire in my kitchen, and the people at the office (just as rude as can be) tried to make me pay for it. Being that I was young, they tried to make me come to the leasing office and sign a paper saying that I owed them over $3,000. They said that they could make me pay it anyway. So, I told them that if they could make me pay it, why did I need to sign something' I didn't sign anything and they didn't come to fix my kitchen. I stopped paying rent, so we ended up going to court. Their lawyer tried to get me to pay, saying that it was my fault. I told him that if he could prove it, then fine. But they couldn't prove it because it wasn't my fault (They didn't know I already had gotten copies of the police report saying that it wasn't my fault). Anyways, I didn't end up paying any more then I owed in rent, and they ended up coming and fixing my kitchen about a month before my lease was up anyway. By the way, they did a horrible job - they were just trying to do a little to shut me up. In summary, DON'T DO IT - do not move here. It is the worst experience I ever had. The people in the office are rude (of course, they wait until they get you to sign a lease), and are out to get whatever they can money wise. Oh yeah, if you think my story is because I did something wrong (i.e. start a fire) - here's a little something for thought: Word around town is that there are at least two fires per year at this apt. complex. Good luck!
