If you like drug dealers and gang bangers - move on in. The police are always there.
People are breaking into the storage units all the time. The staff is very rude. It is the most unsafe place I haver ever lived. I think I would feel safer in a cardboard box in downtown Detroit! I guess I should explain:
1. Go to Building 9. (And I think building 10 )It's right by the clubhouse. (Across the parking lot)
2. The storage units, they are broken into. I know first hand. Let's see, you need a key to get into the building, and a key to get into the basement where the storage is AND MINE GOT BROKE INTO. So, did I live amongsts thieves'
3. Let's not forget the drunks trying to crawl onto the wrong patios after a night of boozing it up at Diamondbacks.
4. How about a black guy walking around at 6:00 am in the morning telling and showing people he has a knife.
5. Loud music - All over. Trust me, no one has respect for quiet. (and remember the walls are paper thin)
6. Staff - Amanda is nice, but that is her JOB. Terry is okay, BUT the REST OF THEM are very rude!
7. A guy chasing some girl around the buildings and she is screaming "He has a gun, he is gonna kill me" I saw that 1st hand especially when she ran up to that one dude that has the German Shepherd. That was a sight to see when he let the dog loose and it went after homeboy. I never saw somebody run that quick.
I could go on and on, but it really isnt worth it.
The place is an utter DUMP!

I totally disagree! I have never seen a single one police car and there is no gang banging going on! Your completely overreacting to possibly a bad experience with staff or a resident, but do NOT but a bad name and image to a nice complex! And I would prefer you to go live in a cardboard box in detroit if your going to lie about a great apartment complex!

I was there as well that night. This place doesn't do any background checks at all and they let felons in as well. THIS PLACE SUCKS!!!!!

This place is very over-priced for the accomodations. Very dated. I have to agree with the previous tenant about the crime here. My vehicle just got broken into right in front of my apartment. The thief broke out my window and stole my radio. Where were the notorious security guards??? I am moving out of here as soon as my lease is up, and I would never move back to this ghetto place. And to think that I paid almost $900 a month to live here. You would think that more quality people would live here considering the amount of rent they charge. I have also experienced my neighbors fighting in the hallway, cops looking for a felon on several occasions. I think that Harbour Club should definitely do background checks!! And they also say that my apartment is upgraded and I pay $100 a month extra for this. I really don't see what could possibly be an upgrade. I would hate to see an apartment that was not upgraded. Also, hope you are cold blooded, you need to be to live here in the Winter. The heating system which radiates from the ceiling sucks. I guess that never heard that heat rises. All I can say is run, not walk away from Harbour Club!! That is unless you like to live around thieves and felons.

I also live in a building by the clubhouse and my storage unit (along with most of my neighbor's storage units) was broken into.
There were huge issues with cars being broken into or stolen, but I haven't heard anything recently about that. I know for a fact that it happened to a friend on the lake side apartments.
Heating is VERY expensive in the winter, and believe it or not A/C is actually cheaper. My 3rd floor apartment stays at 65-68F in the winter for a total cost of 200$ a month. I don't heat the bathroom and keep the bedroom at 60F. I feel bad for anyone in the basement because the cold air from the entrances sinks down and makes that lower hallway about 10 degrees colder. Basement apartments also have issues with their patio filling up with rainwater.
If the storage issue was not bad enough someone stole my clean towels out of the dryer. It was not a mistake, because they left half behind and took the nicer towels (Martha Stewart so not that nice). I'm sure it was the neighbor because he insisted that I dry my load of towels before his... no one else was in the laundry room.
I also have seen the meat head idiots climb up balconies. We have had several problems with rude obnoxious neighbors but luckily our building is mostly empty (but the towel thief remains). People let their dog poop everywhere and don't clean it up. One guy lets his dog run around and poop on the golf course. Speaking of the golf course, there are always thugs walking around aimlessly through the course regardless of people playing.
On a POSITIVE note MANTAINENCE is GREAT! The new management is taking care of problems (installing heaters in the hallways much to the benefit of the frigid basement hallway, picking up dog poop from irresponsible neighbors, painting the hallways, fixing broken intercoms, spraying for bugs, etc). However they did promise me a giftcard to renew my lease and then kept coming up with excuses why they couldn't provide one.
