2 weeks in, so far so good!

Fiance' and I moved here about 2 weeks ago. Besides unpacking boxes and wishing it was done already I am happy with our choice so far. We moved from Lakeshore apartments that are about 5 minutes away. What a change! We feel safe outside, people say hi as they walk by, its just a breath of fresh air. We have had a couple of small mx problems, (leaky faucet, light switch, etc) and they have all been resolved the same day. I only have a few gripes, when we moved in they tried to steam clean carpet that was not really salvageable and should have been replaced, but the way we look at it that is probably a good thing because at least this way we can't be held responsible for the carpet being dirty when we move out. Its only really bad in the living room and Tyler in the office (Barney) told us that they would come clean it again after we are all moved it. He has been great, addressing all of our needs and wants in a timely manner, and with a smile. When I toured he spent about 2 hours driving around and showing me various apartments even though they were mostly the same lay outs. He didn't have to do all that, but I am glad he did. The other issue we have had is a toilet that just doesn't seem to want to flush right and gets clogged very easily. They came over and repaired the seal because we thought it was leaking and we thought that might be what was causing it to not get a good flush. That didn't solve the problem, so they are coming back. Hopefully they can resolve that with a snake tool, or by replacing the toilet. Who knows, but they are trying and that is what count. I wish we had a little more storage, but the chain link storage facilities that come with the rent are very nice and I am glad they are there. I think some people have storage attached to their balconies too, we don't. The covered parking that is included in rent is also nice. We were having to pay extra for that over at Lakeshore. The courtesy patrol seems to drive around and keep a eye on things pretty well. Its a large facility, so thats good. Its getting to be winter so I might not get to use it this year, but I am also kinda stoked about the cheap golf and driving range that are located here. Its not the nicest looking course in the world but it looks like fun to go hack it up on. The heat is electric, but fortunately we are on the second floor, so I think that is going to save us a bunch of money in heating. Did I mention we are saving a 100 bucks a month on rent and that is going from a 1br/1ba to a 2br/2ba. Hmm, what else, you can hear the neighbors walk around upstairs sometimes, but its a apartment, not a luxury condo ya know. Its not like they are having a raging party or anything. One or two other small items, a identical apartment with a washer and dryer was 45 bucks more a month, but there are 2 washers and 2 dryers per building and its a very short walk, so no big deal! The trees in front of the building kept us from being able to get a signal on our dish, but I called Comcast and they are the same price more or less (give or take 5 bucks) for the same channels. Not a big deal really, in fact none of it is. The good far out ways the bad so far. All and all I would recommend this place to someone looking for economy that balances amenities. Oh the gym is nice too, but if you want to use it after hours you have to pay a additional 50 dollar deposit for the electronic key to get you in and out. Of course when you move out you get that back assuming you don't lose it. My fiance' has been using the tanning bed, they provide all the cleaning supplied and what not I guess. Pretty cool amenity. She says the work out stuff is in good shape. Our last apartments workout stuff was old and beat up. Anyhow, two thumbs up so far and another thumb up for Tyler in the office.
