I moved to this apartment without even getting a chance to see it with my own eyes. It was definitely a shot in the dark but considering I was moving to Michigan, I think it was an ok decision made on my part. I got an employment opportunity and had a mere two weeks to move my life from Washington State to here, so I most definitely had no time to be picky.
Anyways, the staff are really awesome. The maintenance is questionable and I say this because I put in a request for my fridge shelf to be replaced but they never came and I just got used to the fact that I couldn't use one of the shelves. Other than that, the office is very pleasant and everyone who works there is there to help you out. I had a leasing agent named Tyler and I communicated with him from WA and he was great!
Parking is definitely adequate. You get your own port which is great, and there's always parking spaces available.
I live in the non-lake side. If you can afford the difference, you should definitely live by the lakeside apartments because it is SO LOUD where I live. I-94 is right outside my window and it took me a good couple months to be able to go to sleep without having to take sleeping pills. The car noises are insane. Also, I have to agree with everyone else; you can hear your neighbors pretty well. I always think someone is breaking in whenever my neighbors downstairs are doing something. I also had to get used to that.
I was greedy and wanted the 2 bedroom (even though I'm by myself) on the golfside instead of 1 bedroom on the lakeside and I deeply regret it, so choose wisely! The lakeside ones are maintained better too and have newer appliances (but they are more pricey).
As far as safety, I haven't ran into any issues. I never see my neighbors but when I walk past them they seem friendly and I definitely haven't seen any drug-trading going on.
In conclusion, I recommend it since the pricing is reasonable but I have no plans renewing my lease. If by any miracle I did, I would ask to get a 1 bedroom on the lakeside.
