VERY BAD MANAGEMENT, MANAGEMENT MAKING UP RULES

I would recommend this place, the apartments are nice, but management is very bad from Pat, to the office, even to the main office in Farmington Hills. They make up false rules and try changing the agreement in the contract. For questions email me Energy-man@hotmail.com. Let me explain.
1) They dyed a nice pond and looks like crap now, dirty, resulting in silverfish on cars and the apartments.
2) They slap you with a violation for the smallest of things. They give it to certain people, but not others who break the same rule.
3) People play loud music, they ask for them to turn it down and yet slap you with a violation for something dumb.
4) Someone plays loud music or is loud and they want to argue with you about noise level. Especially when advertised or your furniture is shaking.
5) Management calls you at home and leaves a thousand messages as though you don t work at all. Then they call you at work harassing you about something small.
6) Be careful about calling maintaince! They will act friendly and spy around your house looking for a violation. Then instead of telling you about it, they will tell management about it and bang! a violation.
7) They leave you a notice on purpose hours before they have to do something in your apartment or other things on the apartment. (Water shutoff, Maintaince in your apartment, ETC.)
8) In June they left a letter stating to call Van Buren Police if you see someone acting funny because there were break-ins in other apartments. These managers lied stating that was in Detroit. Coming to find out in this site and from my neighbors it was happening here. It happened in building 14.
9) The contract looked as though it was from the internet. Stuff doesn t apply. I was slapped a violation for a storage container, very harmless. And yet, everybody has storage containers, dishes on the balcony, which is against contract. And even people grilling on the balcony which could cause a fire.
10) They painted our doors, leaving our apartments open with no person from the complex guarding it which someone could of walked in and stoled something. I had walked in on my own apartment and no one from the apartment complex carded me or was even around. I set up a video camera and it showed someone walking into our apartment.
11) The two years we lived here I counted 11 nails in my car tires.
12) They are cheap expecting everyone to walk to the office with there trash which is one dumpster. What about people who are old, handicap or don t have a car. They have no business taking out the additional dumpsters.
13) I moved out 6 weeks before our contract was up. (Not a contract buyout) I paid up to our lease expires and I put the apartment on the market which I found a new tenant. I wrote Farmington Hills a letter stating that they owe me money since I got the apartment rented out. They stated that I broke the lease and its 50$ they will be taken for the cost of finding someone to fill the apartment. Now mind you I had paid up to the expiration of the lease which is not a buy out and if this was the case they would of charged me six weeks back when I turned in my keys and took it out of my security deposit. Then they said they will turn it into security deposit money which is illegal. Be fore warned they will nickel and dime you and try to change the contract around with false things.
14) DO NOT tell them you have a pet. Our apartment was very clean and our dog use the outside for the bathroom. If they know you have a pet, they will automatically take out money from your deposit about $200 for "decontamination of pet". This doesn t say anything I asked and they wouldn t give me a defined answer.
15) They take out money from your security deposit for things that were already damaged before we moved in from the prior tenant.
16) I had asked maintaince to fix our dishwasher which they never did. From them not checking it out and replacing as I stated ended up as a disaster to our neighbors living below us. It flooded there apartment.
17) People were vandalizing cars, my own and even my neighbors. Management did nothing so I did. I installed a camera watching my cars and my neighbors. The funny part is Pat called me stating I can t have a camera and is illegal. She stated she is going to call the police. I told her to go ahead and the police stated it s in my rights. Then she has the nerve and asks me if I had video of people vandalizing the building.
18) They will try to create things that doesn t exist in the contract.
19) They never lock you into a fixed price. They will have specials just to move you in and then, they will hike the rent way up.

I'm very happy to move out of here. The incident with the person walking into our apartment from the staff being negligent was enough. I hope you take my advice and not move in here.

If you were charged money out of your security deposit, and you disagree with the amount charged, don't forget that you have rights! You have two weeks to contest the charges in writing, and then the landlord has to sue you for the amount back. Knowing your rights will ensure that you do not get screwed.
