DO NOT MOVE HERE!I lived here for one year and regret it very much. The basements under the apartments are constantly flooded with nasty run off, even ameritech would not enter the flooded basement. The whole apartment was run down with no updates since it was built besides wreaking of wet old water. The apartment was never cleaned before we moved in. We placed several service requests for a leaky bathtub and leaky kitchen sink, after black mold started to grow on the walls and under sink we fixed the problem ourselves. I had horrible neighbors who were very loud and hateful besides their dogs running loose and trying to constantly attack residents (one was a rotweiler). The manager and Robert Lane could careless and did nothing about this. When we moved out we received a bill for over $1000 for carpet replacement, since the apartment was left in much better condition when we moved out then in, we refused in writing the charges and requested our security deposit. I used a corporate lawyer to try and get the money back, American Property Management is one of the slimiest untrustable businesses ever. They refused all phone calls and the address listed on all their bills and leases is not their business address. According to Robert Lane this propert management business has no real address of its own and is not responsible for anything to do with their own apartment complexes. After two years of court I am still working on my court case and my deposit has jumped from $400 to almost $950. I have also found out from talking to other alumni they do this to lots and lots of residents since they are college kids that would rather give up $400 then answer to huge illegal repair bills. DO NOT MOVE HERE! If you live here now and want to get your security deposit back, don't pay for your last month of rent.
