Like Going to Hell.... and Paying To Live There

First off let me say this.... this place has no idea what they are doing. The guy who fixes your toilet also attempts to administrate the so called High Speed Internet... The only problem with that is the guy has no idea how to fix any problems with it. And it frequently quits working. The internet cuts in and out all day long in fast intervals... we're talking every minute and a half the net stops working. Like playing online games' Don't even try. Like Instant Messenging' Not here you don't. The internet is soo bad that Yahoo Messenger can't stay connected and work correctly. No downloading Larger files unless you have the time and patience to sit there and restart the download when it freezes. Te also block multiple ports of the internet... meaning you wanna download using Bittorrent or Bearshare' No way in hell. They can't even connect. They also require that you give them your IP Address and name of your computer.... which is ILLEGAL. They use it for tracking purposes, which is an infringement on your Civil Rights. The maintenece guy will come in and out of your apartment whenever he feels like it, without prior warning, and just about everyone on the planet has a key to your apartment. All the way down to the Orkin Man, who will come at any random point and walk into your home UNANNOUNCED and start spraying chemicals. The never fix anything, and when they attempt to, it usually takes multiple trips on there part, or several days just to get the parts they need from Lowes... which is less than a mile away, and the maintenence guy makes multiple trips there a day. They just casually forget to get the part you need.... then they somehow "forget" that you even had a problem to begin with. Have a complaint about something... good luck. They will literally laugh at you if you complain about anything. There is an awful amount of Breaking and Entering, expect to never be able to leave your windows open at night, cuz someone will take the screen out, and come into your home while you sleep. Live on the first floor and get used to seeing a big neon orange 6x3 Sticker on your windows that say "Emergency Exit" that you are not legally allowed to take off. There are no bedroom lights.... so be sure and buy one for each bathroom. Make sure you have a very small microwave so you can place it somewhere in the kitchen, otherwise get used to the idea of having a microwave in your living room. There is practically no counterspace in this apartment, and what countertop is there is way to small to be able to use for anything... Its only about a foot deep so its not big enough to put anything on. There is only one Cable jack in the apartment so running cable tv to either bedroom (especially the far one) can be a hassle, unless you like having wires lying around in the open through your apartment. BTW.... cable TV IS NOT INCLUDED IN THE DEAL. They just upped the price to 715 a month, but hey... they made the washing machine free to use.... too bad the dryer has been broken for the entire year I have lived here. Parking is a pin in the ass.... there are alot of places to park, but alot more vehicles. Many times you will find yourself parking way away from your apartment, which can be a pain in the ass if you have groceries and live on the 3rd floor. The noise is terrible, you can hear the people outside so badly that it feels like they are in the room with you. Now I am not a quiet person, but after 12 months of CONSTANT people yelling, reving there car engines, setting off car alarms for fun (on multiple occasions), The police showing up at least once a week.... I just wanted to leave. There is no security, so you have to always be on the lookout for someone messin with your stuff. Don't leave anything outside cuz it will get stolen/vandelized. Its not so bad living behind K-Mart until 4:00 AM Every few days when the trash comes and picks up all of the trash from K-Mart, Radio-Shack, GoodWill.... Very, Very Loud.... not to mention the Trash pick-up at Hillcrest, the way the buildings have been set up it turns the parking lots into an amplitheatre... normally around 4-5:00 AM. The pool..... lets just say that if you dont like swimming while a hundred people sit there and watch you while they sunbathe, then the pool here is not for you. Nobody swims in the pool.... but there is atleast 20-30 people down there all day, everyday it is open just sitting there... and you aren't allowed to get water anywhere near them.... AT THE POOL. NO JUMPING INTO THE POOL.... not just no Diving.... no Cannonballs, no flips, no jumping whatsoever. No horseplay, no food or drink, and you cannot legally have alcoholic beverages on the pool grounds at all. The can... and WILL CALL THE POLICE if you have any alcoholic substances near the pool area. There are two sets of speed bumps in the parking lot, neither of which actually slow people down, they just wreck the joints of your car when you drive over them. Baseboard Heating in the apartments proves a useless but expensive way to heat it during the winter season. Get ready for another $150 a month in electricity, and thats if you live on the 3rd floor, where you can somewhat mooch heat off the people below you. Like animals' Not here you don't unless the only animal you happen to like is a cat. Absolutely no pets other than cats. And then there is a $50 charge for keeping the pet. Have friends or family that you expect to come stay with you... you better know the exact dates of when they are coming, otherwise there car will be towed for not having a proper guest pass. Which can only be given in a by day type, so if you have a guest coming monday through friday night, then you would have to go every day to get them a new pass, otherwise they will be towed and ticketed. They also reserve the right to remove any persons from your dwelling which is not on your lease for any reason whatsoever.

All in all, not a bad place to live.... If you like living in Hell..... Otherwise go somewhere else. Or live in a dumpster. Either one is better. lGjq8RUBjvsZjkb5ueji

I currently live in Hillcrest and I like it. yeah it might get noisy sometimes but come on, its an apartment complex in a college town. Gimmie a break! U cant expect complete quiet when u live in an apt, its just the way it is. There is security here, I have seen them. If u would pay attention u would too. U make it seem like u didnt look at the apartmentbefor u moved in. If it was too small 4 u then u shouldnt have moved in. Idiot!!! U shouldnt leave your stuff outside anywhere. People are crazy and will mess with it wherever u are. I enjoyed the pool this past summer. there were other people that enjoyed it too. And who cares if some of the other tenants just sunbathed, y are u worried about that? An if u were smart u wouldmt jump or dive into the pool. Its not allowed because its not safe!! The pool is not that deep, only 5 ft. Why would u want to dive into a shallow pool??? Oh not to mention that there is really nice new landscaping. It makes the complex pretty and more home like. Oh and the comment about the speedbumps is sooo stupid! They arent there to damage your car its for saftey and if u were dumb enough to speed over them u have serious issues. Most people know that you cant have pets in apartments. Its just the way it is. If u want pets then u should find a place to live that accepts them. I have never had a problem with maintenance. they always fixs the problems in my apt right away(I have had very few) They are also really nice. I think you are just a bitter person and u probably made this experience bad for yourself. You should have done research on the place b4 u moved in. Almost all of the things u are crying about were probably brought to your attention b4 u moved in, probably b4 u signed the lease...So stop being a whiny ----- and deal with life like a grown up!!!

To tell you the truth you stupid ---- I did look at it before I moved in. In the LATE Spring of 2006 Hillcrest went under new management. While the new people were friendly, it is still not enough to persuade me to ever move back. As for your attacks at me.... why attack me, when all I did was state my opinion. Just because you don't like it doesn't mean you have to be a ----tard about it. And learn to spell before. Is it really that hard to type out, or are you seriously that lazy. As for the pool, I was more commenting on the people who DON'T LIVE THERE that treat you like ---- while you are swimming. I can't believe that someone trying to sound as smart and well educated as you want to sound,
would be so ignorant to the fact that not everybody feels the same way YOU DO. But that does not mean you have to make the people you disagree with feel stupid.

This is the exact kind of person you will find living at Hillcrest. Someone who doesn't give a flying ---- what you think, but wanna make it seem like they care SOOOOOO MUCH about it that they have to make you feel stupid about the way you are. Thank you for proving my point you obnoxious -----.

Thank you so much, jinxvorheeze, for taking the time to post your comments about this place. I'm a grad student and I don't have time for bad apartment complexes.
