First year here at FSU and my first apartment to myself. I got a one bedroom and to my surprise its huge. The apartments are in good condition, no bugs or rodents and its really close to campus.
One of my only problems with this place is there is no A/C, so in the summer it gets really hot, but there are A/C units that you can buy for 200 bucks that you don't have to put in the windows and it makes it better. Also there is no Dishwasher which isn't a big deal, but it just makes things easier.
They allow pets which is awesome because not a lot of places do and the actual building doesn't stink like animals, they take really good care of it.
The owner is a nice guy and is around fairly regularly, but he lives in D.C., but he gives control to the land-lady who's really friendly and keeps the place up and helps out with anything you need.
The rent is kinda high, but again, its a college town and you pay for location, but I'm not complaining, the rent is dropping to 500 a month plus electric and water soon, and you don't pay rent during the summer. But for the price you get a very large apartment.
My biggest gripe is the laundry room, there's 2 washers and 2 dryers for 8 apartments so sometimes you have to do laundry at odd hours and I wish there was a coin machine to get quarters to run the machines instead of having to go to the bank or Wal-Mart, but they work great and are fast too.
I get along with everyone in the building and everyone is really friendly. It can get pretty loud on the weekends and occasionally on the weekdays, but what can you expect, its a college town. Walls are paper thin, so be used to hearing conversations, TVs, Music and what-not, but you do get used to it and after a while it just becomes background noise.
I just resigned my lease for another year and I plan on staying here until I graduate.
