I am Suprised!

I have been staying at this location for the past four years and I am shocked at the reviews I've read up to this point. I have only seen improvements since moving here in 2002. I moved from Southfield where I resided for 11 years. Although the office personnel has changed, staff has proven to be somewhat similiar in their style. I did however have to write Mark Management last year regarding the unprofessionalism and uncaringness when it came to paying your rent. They would leave notices on your door for other residents to see, instead of putting it in an envelope. But, after writing their Coporate Office and speaking to the On-site Office regarding this, they agreed and this practice was discontinued. The problem actually was the postal mail carrier who was not picking up the outgoing mail on a regular basis and this resulted in payments arriving late to Mark Management. I had to encourage them to put themselves in the other persons shoes and treat others as they would like to be treated. To always afford a person their DIGNITY and RESPECT, especially with the economy changing EVERY DAY and peoples circumstances changing as well. Any of my requests made to the office have been carried out promptly. I have only had to contact the maintenance department in the past four years for BULB replacement. No major repairs or breakdown in 4 years. I think that is REMARKABLE. As far as the police patrol (BLOOMFIELD POLICE DEPARTMENT) I think as a woman that is an added PLUS since it is not a gated community and any effort to keep the undesirables out, I APPLAUD that effort. If I felt unsafe, I would have moved out years ago. I work varied work hours and I do not like being awaken to loud music, excessive noise of people talking in the parking lot or right up under your window, in the middle of the night. My only complaint in the past four years has been maintenance coming in my apartment unauthorized or having the wrong apartment number put on work orders, but this matter can only be resolved with better message taking and repeating the unit number and maintenance request when calls are taken. I think the complex needs more SPEED BUMPS around the entranceway, turns, curves and other parts to keep speeders from driving TOO FAST, add some carports, take away the lake to distract the geese droppings and make a play area to keep minor children from playing around cars. Also, snow plow service needs to be IMPROVED GREATLY. The contractor doesn't do a good job as far as clearing snow in the winter. I had to buy a shovel to shovel around my vehicle and put salt down at the entranceway. I fell last winter on the steps of the entranceway outside my apartment. Lastly, this complex is moving forward with the changing community. As we speak new businesses, new condos, lofts are being built around it and with the amount they charge here for rent, it's a good place to be right now and live with the minor querks. It's nice having stores (i.e. Kmart, a Post Office, Carl's Golf Land, Costco, a new Assisted Living being built, resturants and shopping right across the street so that you can walk over to them and cut down on the HIGH GAS PRICES. I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND this complex to everyone but remember, it depends on what your needs are. If you're looking for glitz and glamour, then this is not the place. If your looking for average or above average living at a GOOD PRICE, then this is the place to be. If you do some competitive shopping you will see that their rent rates are very reasonable for this area. I have had NO MAJOR PROBLEMS. There are people who walk to the businesses across the street, and walk in the complex in the evening for excercise, children and adults who slide down the hill when it's snowing. Also, there are residents who have resided here longer than I have. Younger people might not like the complex and consider it boring. But, if you are older, you will like it. I even had someone last year who moved out in 2001 that has come by the complex recently, and said they were considering coming back when their lease is up in West Bloomfield. So, does that sound like a person should be concerned about their safety or residing here' The only reason why I would move out is to get closer to my job or find a complex with a carport or is larger in size. They do not have enough closet or storage space like other complexes I've lived in. However, I hope after writing this review, I don't live to regret it!

"BRAVO"!!! "BRAVO"!!!! I enjoyed your reveiw THANKYOU soOoOoOoOoOo much. When i was considering moving here in Dec 05 i did get the feeling that this place was terriable. I did get the feeling that i would be unsafe. I rode through here in the day time and in the night time and not once did i run across any policemen. I even rode through at 4&6a.m. in the morning. You have eased my fears a great deal and yes i am older so you said i would like it {smiles}. I was just wondering what building is the best building to reside in??? I was shown the building behind the leasing office a handicap apt for $510.00 a month.

I really enjoyed reading your response as I am considering moving into the complex sometime in August or September of thsi year. I am not very familiar with the area at all as I am relocating from out of state, however it is nice to know that someone considers this community to be safe. I have never experienced snow, therefore I'm not sure how that will be for me. You mentioned that the contractor that comes by and clears the snow is not that great. Hopefully this winter it will be better.

this place is great and it's very peaceful. One day I walked outside and saw a deer right out by the pond. There are swans that swim in the pond all the time, they are beautiful to watch as the sun sets. There is a beautiful swimming pool to swim in and a very impressive fitness center connected to the office. I always enjoy coming home here after a long days work. There are beautiful hills and trails all around the property. Beautiful landscape and holiday lighting in the winter. I love to walk around the property, it is well kept and the maintence always walks the grounds to make sure it is that way. GREAT ATMOSPHERE and a safe, beautiful place to live!!!!
