Great Apartment, Poor Staff

I've been at the Glens a year now. I was pleased when I found this apartment because it offered everything I was looking for - huge apartment, garage parking, secured building (you must be buzzed in), and a great location. My first disappointment was after moving in. When I got my key and went to clean the apartment, it was disgusting. That couldn't be seen on the surface. When I started to mop the floors and clean out the tub, there was so much dirt and grime. There was no way that apartment had been cleaned like it should have. The carpet was obviously not properly cleaned either. I told the staff about this and they assured me they had a professional staff clean the place. If that was so, they should have gotten their money back.

I am still pleased with the accommodations but the office staff is rude and incompetent. They have had turnover and the lady in the office now is even worst than the one before. The new property manager is a joke. He seems so concerned with dolling up the place and less concerned about the tenant's actual issues. Miscommunication is a big issue in their office. I will tell one person something and then have another person in the office call me to ask about it.

Parking - Great, they have garages and carports

Noise - You can sometimes hear people talking but more than anything, I can hear when the other residents on my level are walking around - it sometimes sounds like someone is walking in my apartment. That is annoying.

Grounds - They seem to care an awful lot about the grounds lately, even more than they do about the actual apartments. Strange.

Safety - The buildings are secured so no one can get in without being buzzed in. They need more lighting in the parking lots though.

Construction - The apartments are not properly taken care of. Also, they allow dogs so beware if you don't want to hear dogs barking on your floor. The carpet is worn and the apartment needs to be painted. The appliances are also outdated.

Maintenance - The maintenance guys used to be prompt but they have fallen off lately. It takes far too long for routine tasks now. You also have to call in several times before someone tends to you.

Staff - The staff is rude, incompetent, and unorganized.

Overall - If you can deal with poor office staff in order to get a huge apartment in a nice area with a garage - then I would suggest looking into this. If you are big on customer service and expect to be treated with respect, look elsewhere.
