After I signed my lease for the second year, my car was broken into twice within two weeks while parked in the carport in Building 4. The first time, my lock was removed from my door and the second my entire window was smashed. Both times there was also extensive interior damage to my car, and I had two stereo systems, numerous CDs, an amplifier, and a subwoofer taken. I told management about this many times, but they failed to take any security measures. Also, other neighbors had their cars broken into many times. When I filed my second police report, the officer said there had been 7 break-ins at Marianne Manor in the past four days. I subletted my apartment to somebody else so that I can get out of there, and then HIS car was broken into twice. When you talk to the staff, they will literally roll their eyes at you. I also agree with the person who complained about loud sex; my next door neighbors would have violent arguments followed by extremely loud sex. If you own a car, you're not going to get any sleep there.

Jennifer04. You must work for the management company with that sort of retort. Let me tell you this. That complex has been garbage for the last couple of decades. So much so that there is a big condo complex behind it. You're aware of that, yes? You have to drive through the apt complex to get to the condos. Well Jennifer04, go to realtor.com and look up condos in woodhaven, mi. You'll see 5, yes 5 WHOLE PAGES of nothing but these condos for sale. I would say that makes at least 65% of this condo complex currently on the real estate market. Why? My guess would be from having to put up with the garbage that lives in the complex you so obviously work for. People are tired of drving thru your complex at night in fear for their safety just to get to their homes. I can't imagine all the crime that overflows in the community from your scetion 8 housing establishment. And don't blame the economy because NO WHERE ELSE as far as condo complexes go in the tri county area is there such a cluster of units for sale in one single complex. 5 pages.

I do not work for this community or any other apartment complex. In fact, I work for a crisis center. I do know about the condo community you're talking about and I also know about other condo communities that are just being built that are so desperate to sell their units that they are basically giving them away. I do not believe that Marianne Manor itself - or the crime within - is the reason for their slow sales. You have to consider the economy since so many people are having a hard time selling their HOMES - much less a condo, which isn't nearly as much privacy. The crime at these communities - well, I called the Brownstown and Woodhaven police departments to ask about the crime rate in the area and in Marianne Manor specifically and they told me that while they couldn't give specifics, this community was no more dangerous than any other in the area and that being so close to the freeway, you have to expect some crime. He also said that rate would increase if you kept valuables in your vehicle that would appeal to the eye - such as CD's and fancy stereo equipment. I'm not here to argue with you, but you seem to want to blame everything on this community and take no personal responsibility. I'm not saying that Marianne Manor is a luxury community - but I am saying that all apartment complexes have issues, especially when they are so close to the freeway and that for the rent, these apartments are a great value. My decision right now on where to move is between these and some apartments across the street. In either case, I have to remember - they are apartments, it's not as private or safe as a home would be and I could end up with a neighbor like you who b*tches and yet still renews their lease.
