I moved here from out-of-state, so I had to do my research on about 4 or 5 newer apartment communities in the greater GR area. This was my #1 first choice I picked, and since I've moved in I have not been disappointed. Great office staff and maintenance staff, landscaping is beautiful, surrounding neighborhood is SO beautiful with an abundance of trees, walking trails, grass, flowers, bushes, meadows, etc. As other reviewers have stated, the apartment buildings have concrete walls (most of them anyway) but some noise is still audible. This place allows dogs unfortunately, so there's sometimes barking you'll be able to hear. Oh, and instead of having dumpsters they have a trash compactor, and the area is always filthy with spilled trash, etc. I don't know if some residents are just slobs and don't clean up after themselves if they drop their bags, or if the trash people never clean up around the enclosure, but it's pretty yuck. Trust me though, that's about the worst of the problems here, which is VERY minor in nature (and I am a VERY nit-picky person!) Call well in advance to inquire about availability, the apartments are always filled to capacity and for me, it was hard to squeeze in here by my move-in date. That says something right there for people living here, they want to stay! Oh, also the Fieldstone community is about 1/2 apartment buildings, and 1/2 condos. There are some buildings in the process of being built, which someone else pointed out leaves some stray concrete foundations looking oddly out of place. And M-6 is just a stone's throw away from the south end of the complex, but really it makes for a kind of "white noise" that masks all other normal neighborhood racket (of which there is usually little). And of course you can't hear it at all when your windows are closed. Although Fieldstone is just a few miles from the main airport in GR, the noise contour map doesn't show it being in the high-volume area for airplane noise. But I notice I still do sometimes hear planes passing overhead. Not constant though. Overall, I give this 9 stars out of 10 -- it's one of the newest apartment complexes in GR, so a bit more on the expensive side. But yeah, I love it here so far and I'm sure you will too :)
