When I first looked at the apt. complex I was very impressed. However, here are a list of problems that I had
1. If you enjoy any kind of privacy, this is not the place for you. You can hear conversations through the walls and the front door. The walls are paper thin!!!!
2. I lived above someone with a mental condition and they made my life hell. I complained several times but no one ever did anything about it. It almost seemed like they could care less and didn't want to be bothered.
3. If you enjoy paying EXTREMELY high gas and electric move in today!!! All of the vents are directly next to the windows and doorwalls. Not only that, but the windows and doorwalls are not insulated at all. Since I have moved to a more energy efficient apartment, my gas/electric bill has decreased by more than 75%. In the summer the air conditioning can not keep up with all of the hot air rushing in from the horribly insulated windows and doorwalls. For a one bedroom apartment, your gas/electric bill should never excede the $150 mark especially if you rarely are running the air conditioning/heat.
4. The binds are all dry rotted and they refuse to update them. I broke two of the blinds and I had to wait for them to special order the ancient bliinds and put them in, instead of them putting up the newer kind.
5. Its been more than 2 months and I still have yet to receive my security deposit back or any word that I am getting one or not.
6. I have heard from other residents their that they will not renew their leases with them because of the horrible office staff. There are constantly new people working in the office. Never any consistancy which causes problems. I had to sign the same piece of paper 4 times because "Well she isn't working here anymore", "oh sorry you need to fill this out again, the person who worked here before..."
7. We complained that our doorwall did not lock and it was never taken care of. Safety is not exactly their strong point.
The only good thing I have to say is that the maintainence people are cool.

The law in MI is that they must refund your deposit in 30 days of your move-out. Otherwise you can sue them and win 2x your original deposit.
