After reading these reviews we decided to move in. Most of the bad ones are from a long time ago, and it's usually when people have problems that they write something in complaint. There are far worse comments about other complexes and I like to try things for myself and not go with the crowd, which has payed off.

I've lived in Ypsilanti to New York City, in some of the smallest or oldest places. This place is a lot better than some of the previous places I lived in. It is very spacious. The basement is nice with a washer and dryer hookup.

I live in an upgraded 2 bedroom model which is nice but I don't see much difference in the non-upgrade besides the look of the cabinets. So that is up to you. If you don't really care I think it saves you a little bit.

The special was nice. Did not have to pay a security deposit (due to good credit) and $100 off for 6 months.

As far as kids walking around yes I do see that but they are usually just passing by to go to the park or their friends house. Even if they are "loitering" it does not really bother me. They are kids. It is summertime, why wouldn't they want to be outside with their friends' When I was a teenager I did the same thing and I never got into any trouble. What they are doing and what their parents are or aren't doing is their business. I don't mind them. They don't seem to be doing any harm to anyone's apartments or cars.

When I moved in the door was a little flimsy (the lock guard) so I put my own on which is good against forced entry. The door barely budges now.

I feel very safe here and I would recommend this place to anyone with children. I personally don't have children but there a lot here and it seems like a friendly community.

The office staff is fine also. The person I dealt with was willing to negotiate something that was wrong on our lease when we showed up on moving day. It was stressful for us to see the price being higher and she went out of her way to make sure we were getting the price we were quoted when we looked at the model. I personally am not the type of person to deal with office staff much. I usually just drop my rent in the dropbox on time every month and never have a problem, so friendliness or lack thereof is not a concern to me.

So try it out for yourself and don't be a follower, be a leader because you could discover a hidden gem. And if you don't like it, it's not forever. It's a lease.

... the "Kids Comment" I would like you to explain to the Residents who had their cars scratched in the past, or even the Meadowood Townhomes Staff who had a reward for any Info about the kids who were destroying equipment all around the complex... Well, it propably depends on which social level you find yourself, so you might not care about what is going on around yourself!

LOL I agree with last response, been here a year, I dont mind the kids (lil) kids and even the teens (some of them) but yes their are a lot of gang-type things going on in this place ( iv seen it first hand)and the black kids seem to be out at all times of the night(till 3-4 a.m. running around, needs to be a law-enforced time to be **inside** for the 18 and unders. And the (lock-guard) you put on is only good as the wall holding it duhhh!!! its not a metal door frame!!! thus breaking into your town-house would be as easy as it was before you just wasted money is all you did good job!!!
