Shoddy staff and overpriced

The staff at Pilgrim Village is lazy and reluctant to help with any problems. On numerous occasions I have tried calling the office and gotten no answer, only to walk over and find them there just chatting with each other, ignoring the phone. This is the second summer in a row that the air conditioner has not worked, and I've been given the run-around trying to get someone to come fix it. I was finally able to get my name on maintenance's "waiting list" and told it would be a couple days. This is ridiculous when it is 90 degrees in the apartment and humid. I do not expect this level of service for the high prices this property charges; not to mention with the outdated appliances, kitchens, and bathrooms in the units. Pilgrim Village is in a nice location and the property itself is laid out nicely; however, search elsewhere, unless the managers are able to make some changes and either lower their prices or give you what you pay for.

interesting?? i thought they do a very good job at what they do. I find it shocking for them to ignore the phone.

In the office staff's defense, I have been in many times when one of the young ladies is with someone and the other is on the phone already and I have seen the phone ring and both girls are giving thier attention to the person they are dealing with at the time. I have left messages with them and they always seem to get back with me pretty quick. As far as mntnce problems I have been pretty luck and not had anything major to speak of.Obviously because I rented I am ok with the price too! Sorry to hear your experience was not as good as it could have been.

I've had issues with my air conditioner as well - it simply doesn't push out enough cold air. I've had maintenance out a couple of times and they tell me "the air coming out of the vents is cold." Maybe that's true, but even when it's 85 in my apartment, the air conditioner runs constantly for 3 hours and only cools it down two degrees. That's unacceptable, but the maintenance staff doesn't seem to agree.

The suggestion of turning the A/C on before the weather is hot is crazy. It should work correctly regardless, without having to do that. I've had to have mine fixed multiple times also. It "works" now, but when I put my hand by the vent it's certainly not cold, just kind of cool. I spoke directly with maintenance, and they informed me that they measure the temperature of incoming and output air, and as long as there is a difference of a few degrees they consider it okay. So although it "works" it runs constantly to keep my apartment cooled to 77 degrees, and as a result my electricity bills are over $100 a month. That is crazy for a 2-br apartment. I have a friend in a huge 3 story, 4-br condo nearby who pays less than that to cool his entire place.

I checked my air in May, there was a coil that needed to be replaced and it was done before June, I didn't suffer in the 90 degree weather because I wasn't prepared. I was at a cool 70 degrees. You may think its crazy, but it worked. Things break and if they didn't run all summer, how do you know? I hope that your furnace was fine and you didnt wait for a 40 degree night to turn it on.
