Geesh, where do I begin. First let me say that I have lived here for many, many, many years, for various reasons. The management here when I first arrived was an A on the spot team. Any manager there after was really good, with the exception of the last two years. If you read the previous review, it's true, Spartan Motors is in our back yard. Their parking lot lights do shine into your apartment. So, if you are looking for a country setting, it's not here.
The bottom line is this: They get you in here to rent and everything seems great. Inside the building it's filthy dirty. They are slow, very slow to fix anything because they are working on it (whatever that means). The noise, omg, there is no privacy here. You can hear everything, and I do mean everything. When there was an on-site manager, he would come day or night and help you out. The grounds were also beautiful. Ever since he left, and the management company decided not to replace him, this place has taken a serious nose dive.
I was at the party store the other day, and I was chatting about where I lived, and the reply to my statement that I live at Shaker House was, "yeah, that really used to be a nice place, but now its like the projects, and they let anyone live there." That statement is sad but true in my opinion. PLEASE, PLEASE before you decide to rent here, talk to the people that live here. Make sure you do your homework before you jump into a year long lease hastily. It could be the longest year of your life!

It's so sad. As bad as I wanted to get out of there, I now miss those years at Shaker House when Dave was the manager. The people who are now "running" Shaker House are the same people running the apartments where I live now....and believe me, they haven't done any better here.
