I'm currently a tenant at Amber Creek East. There's a long string of apartments on this road but you probably get the most in this area for the price, especially if you have a dog. Application process was simple. They offered me a lower rate after agreeing to another 1 year lease.

The apartments are nothing special, but they have all the kitchen appliances. Laundry is shared in the basement and costs $1.75 per load. I usually go elsewhere to do laundry. Apartment has a large yard next to a small creek which is really unique for the area. The road it's on isn't very busy and the apartment complex itself is set far away from the street. Even though every other apartment has a dog, you can't hear much compared to others which surprised me. Can really only hear people in the hallways or near the kitchen wall. This could be because the 2 bedroom units are on the corners and share only 1 wall.

Maintenance is very prompt and fixes any problems with the apartment unit. Carports are available for a fee, but are free to 2BR units. Pets are free and rent includes water and heat.

Some problems are the distance it takes to walk from parking to the apartment. The vertical blinds are kind of irritating to use. We had some smokers beneath us and could smell it coming through the kitchen, but they were only there for a few months. Most smokers smoke outside. There are no rowdy or loud people here. Like I said, it's pretty quiet for an apartment.

Dog waste can be a problem since a few people don't bother to pick up anything, but it seems to be getting better. Snow removal could be a bit more prompt in the winter. Units have 1 or 2 wall A/C units. They'll cool the rooms, but they're big energy suckers so invest in some fans to save money. Walls are all white and some painted poorly. Appliances are old and basic, but you're not paying for a luxury apartment here.

I'm looking for another place, but I might just stay here. It's probably the best value in the area. But Amber has many different complexes in the area so I can only speak for Amber Creek East.
