These are now called Amber Broadacre Apartments, owned by Amber Properties. I've lived here for two years. There seems to be enough parking. Basic beige carpet, white walls. I've had several problems with my unit. Stove broke two days before I was cooking Thanksgiving dinner for my family, just two weeks after moving in. Was promplty replaced with a brand new one. Had to have the furnace guy over so much I almost started charging him rent. They didn't seem to think me smelling gas was a problem. Also, every time it rains, the basement floods and is mildewy and spidery. Complaints don't seem to help. Hallways are rarely vacuumed and lights rarely replaced. Broken glass in hall fire extinguisher was there for nearly a year. Kind of a high resident turnover. I've been there the longest in my building. Landscaping is not great - exteriors look kinda cheap.
On the plus side: Prompt maintainence for electric, water issues. Dishwasher and garbage disposal. Ample closet space, large bathroom. Large window in living room, though no balcony :( Quiet residential neighborhood off 14 Mi. Easy to walk to Clawson's downtown. Cheaper than Royal Oak. 2 coin W/D in basement, storage lockers, locked buildings. Rent is reasonable, though heat isn't included.
All in all, if you're looking for a quiet, comfortable apartment that's smack dab between downtown Royal Oak and Somerset Mall, this is a great place. Probably the cheapest managed rent in South Oakland Co., you can have a cat without additional fees, and Amber Properties staff seem easy to deal with.
