Flooded apartment!

My apartment recently flooded. Upon looking at this site (see post from 11/2007), I soon realized it appears to be a trend. Given this fact, and the obvious dangers with flooding, I asked to be let out of my lease and was declined. I have a young daughter and I can't stay there anymore because my wife won't let her stay there because of the risk involved... and I honestly can't blame her. Now I am stuck paying for an apartment where I can't even be a dad at. Additionally, all they did was replace the carpet padding and laid down the same carpet. They left my apartment a mess and through all the wet blankets on my bed so it got soaked. I wasn't there when it happened and I didn't even receive a call from them, just a note on the door that there was a "leak" in the closet.

Interesting news. I originally posted this message when my apartment flooded and the one next door. Earlier this week, the 2 apartments across from me flooded! And a bunch of the roofs have had tarps on them for months, so I am sure the upper apartments have had issues as well.

the reason tarps are on is because the roofs are S**T and there too cheap to fix them all at once and be done with them, also the bricks on the buildings are S**T also, there 1/4" thick and fall if a bird S**T'S on them the wrong way... I would advise anyone to move and let everyone I know the same
