I didn't really want to move to Knottingham in the first place but my husband wanted to save money on rent. We had maintenance issues like kitchen sink leaking, the showerhead not working, problems with the toilet. Maintenance is a bit slow but i did notice improvement in response time toward the end of the year. The one thing that really made me angry was what happened at time of move out. They kept a huge portion of our security deposit over a pack of lies. First off, they said we owed DTE energy which wasn't true. I spoke with someone at DTE and she said we had a small credit on our account and we rec'd the check the next day. They kep money for stains on the carpet which also wasn't true. I had a baby in sept and had the carpet cleaned by someone Kitty (the old prop mgr)recommended that same month. We moved out in october. Also, wouldn't the carpet have to be cleaned between tenants anyway' Why are they charging for a service I paid for prior to moving and something they should be doing anyway. They charged us for a missing key 75.00! That was in the lease and we expected that but its still ridiculous. It costs less than 2$ to duplicate a key. It's not like they are going to change locks and reissue keys to everyone because of the one we lost. They also charged us for a missing ice cube tray. A broiler for 18$ that I am assuming it was the new one wrapped in plastic on top of the stove when we moved in (I thought it was a cheap welcome gift). I can't remember what else was on their stupid little list of itemized damages but there was no basis or justification to any of it. I was going to contact Paragon Properties just to let them know that I was very disappointed but I was advised not to. So I took this route to warn people not to forego the walk through at the end of the lease. If you do, they'll keep your money and lie about why they did it. Knottingham is NOT recommended.
