Initially I was impressed with the complex, the layout, large wooded areas, spacious apartments. The problems started when I first came to actually see the apartments first hand. The first few apartments I was shown were dirty, old, run down, dogs barking, etc. I was then shown one in the "new phase", which I take as newer, more secure, and a nicer clientele. Yes, this appeared to be true and I was excited. Only to find after a call that the leasing agent made while in the apt, it was already rented. I then proceeded to see a few more and since my time was running out I chose on a "decent" one. The apt is spacious, though the hall has "rotten food/pet" odors constantly and I can smell everything that my neighbors are cooking from within my apt. The carpets are stained and worn, not terrible, but not really someplace where I wanna be. Within the first few days of being in the apt, I found there was water dripping in the laundry room and a wall full of mold! This was resolved satisfactorily though it took longer than I would have expected. I can hear every conversation / movie / argument / other events that occur in the apts around me. And just today, I walked outside to find that my truck is up on blocks in my carport with all the rims/wheels stolen, the window broken, and everything taken from inside. Great!! I talked with the leasing office and they advised "thats strange that doesnt usually happen where you are". Now, Im not sure what that means, but it sounds like it might be common in other parts of the complex. Needless to say, I will talk to a mgr in the office tomorrow and see what can be done. If not, Im just glad to know that i have free legal service through my place of employment! Don't let them fool you. Cause everything I voiced as a concern when I was searching they said wasn't a problem.

Good luck with the management. They will not break your lease and you should just get legal help right from the get go. They told me it wasn't unsafe that someone was climbing on my balcony, and I have a baby. They did nothing about it but give the people a warning(they were my neighbors on the 3rd floor climbing on my balcony. I was scared out of my mind and the manager told me that it was not unsafe and she didn't see a problem with it. Also, I was in the office one time and heard someone talking about a baseball bat being used on a car next to hers in the carport. I am surprised that apartment complex is still there, they have horrible management. Who knows you might be in my old place. We didn't get to see our apartment till we signed everything already and the carpets had tons of iron burns on it, holes in the screens of the windows, the hallways always smelt like marijuana (as well as my apartment), dogs barking up stairs and your right you can smell everything. This place is disgusting and I would never tell my worst enemy to live there. Hope you can get out of there and your legal service will take them down.

After 3 years of watching the apts. slowly decay, I left. I sympathize with you. Not only will they not release you from your lease, they will evict you if you refuse to pay and demand that they own up to their obligations to you. Good luck to you.

As a follow up to this original rating, I would like to update everyone on the status. The leasing office has been VERY helpful and appreciative of the incidents. Though there were a few mis-communications due to phone numbers not being correct. As it stands now, I did submit a "repair request" for the carport lights when the incident with my vehicle happened a few weeks back. It still is not resolved, but the complex states it will be done by the end of this week. Which I can understand do to the work needed and the weather/frozen ground. As of today, I was also informed that they would offer me to move to the "new phase" with no "transfer" fees and while keeping the same monthly rent. I did go and see the new apartment this afternoon, same layout, newer appliances, full-size W/D, the apt. seemed cleaner with less wear, though the main corridors (entry-hallways) are still worn and dirty. I would hope this is just due to normal wear and tear and will be taken care of on a normal basis (cleaning the carpets, painting the walls, etc). The building lighting and ??????general appearance?????? also seem more reassuring. Tentatively I have a move-in date for the first of next month. I do want to say that the leasing office staff has been very professional and helpful in this situation. Let??????s just hope that the new apartment is better than the previous. I will keep you updated!

I'm glad they our doing all that for you, but you still have to remember!!!! your still living in Lakeside Village. I went through there the other day to visit a friend and with such shock the property has took a 100% turn for the worst. The property likes like a dump. Old vehicles with flat tires everywhere, garbage everywhere etc. The property has gone down hill in a very short time. At one time it use to be a very pretty piece of property, and the residents who lived there were all respectable. Now it is filled with a bunch of young non-caring residents. But good luck and I hope for your sake things work out well for you.
