I moved into Riverside last August. I have waited to write a review as I am very cautious after my last apartment nightmare at the Harbours. Riverside is a home. Now that summer is here I am so grateful for choosing Riverside. It is quiet compared to my previous apartment, and right off the beaten track so there is less noise than I am accustomed to. The lawns are lush and green, if anything breaks they FIX it and that is that. Make sure you look at a couple of apartments because they are all different! There is the imitation wood flooring and the off-white flooring. Both are nice, but you might have a preference like me. There are berber!! carpets. I love my nice berber, so different from the cheap easily stained-and-matted rug at most apartments. I hardly have to vacuum it, nothing shows! My cupboards and doors were painted white, something I also wanted since the white looks far classier with my furniture/decor. The apartment is laid out like a real home. The kitchen is completely separate from the living room and the bath is next to the bedrooms in the back. The ceilings are textured-not sure what the treatment is called-which hides the fact that there is cement between walls and floors. No more paper thin rooms! We live on the 1st floor and do not hear anything! I can play my piano without fear of neighbors complaining. The patio doors have that handy "foot" lock mechanism that allows one to lock and unlock the doorwall without any effort. The screen doors latch as well, something I feel secure with. Some apartments have brand new windows while others do not. Make sure you take your time and check all the available ones. Mine have the new windows (but my friend's does not, she didn't really care). There is a lot of wildlife here-I have seen a skunk, three bunnies and multiple birds on my lawn. There are deer and racoons in the back. The picnic area is a narrow stip of land bordering a forest. There is a wooden bridge crossing the water-it is so peaceful and rustic. I do not miss the country as badly as I did before. We like to grill outside on the old picnic grills and picnic tables, or swim in the pool next to the rental office. There is another area where you can stretch your legs and even a volleyball area (set up with sand, too). A party store is directly across the street, and pizza hut does deliver :) These are things I like to know about apartments. There is a darling vanity and working sink in the bedroom with the vanity mirror/wall mirror so ladies can easily do their hair. Lastly, I am an avid gardener and they DO allow you to garden your area with flowers and toads galore! I can't wait to start planting! Today they are trowling up dandilions and spraying, I can't believe the care they take with this lawn! They have a referral program (which is over a couple hundred bucks) which allows you to refer a renter and they knock the money off your rent. I have already done this :) Fun family oriented place with best holiday decorated apartment(cash off your rent) prizes. The office people are few-and friendly! I have only met three different people and they are all chatty and nice. Best of all, you do NOT have to mail in your rent! It is dropped off at a dropbox on the office or turned in in person. If you get paid (like me) right at the end of the month,no worries. You can get paid on the first and you're good. I could go on forever, but I am very grateful and I would like to let others know that you don't have to settle. You can have an apartment complex that doesn't lie, cheat, or annoy you. Not moving out until I can get a house.
