After a lackluster attempt to find housing in Macomb County we decided on Woodland Meadows. On the initial viewing Woodland Meadows seemed like a great place to live, the grounds were nice, apartments were nicely sized and had great features such as fireplaces and cathedral ceilings.....then we moved in. Now I won't say that our time at Woodland Meadows was horrible, because it wasn't, but it definitely could have been better and there are better places in Macomb County for the same price.
Prior to signing our lease, we did a walk through of the apartment that we were to occupy with the leasing agent, in which we pointed out things in the apartment that need to be replaced or repaired.....we moved in 3 weeks later to find those same issues plus some. The maintenance staff is very nice, however, I don't believe that they actually have the skills to fix anything. Usually when maintenance is called they simply replace whatever is broken, which isn't a bad thing unless something urgent needs to be repaired or addressed, such as a toilet or being attacked by bugs. We woke up one morning and walked to the front door to find literally HUNDREDS of insects covering the inside of the foyer. We called Woodland Meadows who told us to call the management company, Dart Properties, who told us that someone would be out in a few days and basically to live with the problem until then. They finally came out after about 4 hours of calling, getting hung up on. We had to threaten to call the news for the problem to be resolved.
Overall, was living at Woodland Meadows the most horrible thing that's ever happened to us....no. We had an ok experience here, however the things that did go badly did so in a major way and if we had to do everything over again, we definitely would not live here.
