York Creek - to my understanding does not do background checks on tenants and thus ALL walks of life are welcome - both good and bad. There has been a consistant and irriating spill over from "undesirable" tenants into everyone's lives nearby. Be it drive by shootings, fights, critters (and not the fuzzy loveable ones either), robberies, or other; York Creek has been notorious for some time. Even the local sheriffs that I have spoke to have a certain "attitude" towards York Creek. I have watched this community continously go down hill. Security is lacking, and it has put ALL of the tenants and near by communities at risk for harm, vandalism and theft.(video recorders of parking lots would be helpful!). People should not have to be afraid to go visit their family members because they live in York Creek.

I would never live in York Creek again.

York Creek DOES perform background checks on all individuals over the age of 18 requesting to live in any of their apartments. York Creek also works with the Kent County Sheriffs department both pro-actively and to resolve any areas of concern. York Creek also has a Resident Assistant Service patrolling the community after the office closes nightly to assist residents, address areas of concern, and document and report to the office.

I had some poor piece of trash try to steal the windows off my truck topper, I'm assuming because of the aluminum frames. That's about $2 a window, maybe.. I'm being conservative. YC lacks in security and its just too big for them to be able to watch everything. They let undesirables in and hope they don't cause trouble and when they do, it gets ignored. I abhor the entire office staff for their lack of doing anything to fix these problems but only hide them and tell people that action is being taken. It is not, and it won't. Stay away, pay a few bucks more and get the security you deserve.

I know a woman who moved there recently with her kids. 4168. I hope this building is not one of the really bad ones. I hope she is safe.

Whoever wrote the origional review here has obviously never heard of fair housing laws... "thus ALL walks of life are welcome" YEA you HAVE TO if they qualify.... who are they to tell someone they can't come in just because they came from a "different" walk of life... If you don't want anyone to live near you, move to the country
