Not great but not terrible.

I have lived in York Creek now for almost two years. The area where I live isn't bad.
There are two parts to York Creek. The back part behind Four Mile and Best Buy is where most of the apartment are. They are so crammed together, it is like a going through a maze trying to find the building you want. This is where most of the buildings and people are, hence most of the crimes other people have been talking about.
I live in the part behind the 7-11. I have never once encountered any of the problems that other people have mentioned. It is quiet, with only five buildings over there. The neighbors aren't loud or obnoxious, I've never had an issue with random people buzzing me to be let in, etc. I don't do laundry in the building, but my roommate does and he has never once had an issue with people being irresponsible. The only thing I really have to worry about is not hitting the kids that like to play in the parking lot when I am trying to leave.
That said, the building is far from spectacular. The apartments are decent enough, especially for the price, but they are so outdated. My first apartment here had a brand new dishwasher that I loved. When I moved up stairs, I was horrified with the dishwasher I now have. It is so old and creaky. It likes to stop working at random.
Maintenance is good though. When we moved in, we were having several issues with the apartment. The sliding door to the balcony was stuck shut, the door buzzer didn't work, and we had issues with the dishwasher. Within a day of calling maintenance, all of the issues were fixed.
Another problem I've noticed is how thin the walls are. I cannot hear my neighbors in their apartments from my own, but we live next to the stair and when sitting in the living room, we can hear every time the building door is opened and when people walk up or down the stairs. You can hear music and the television from others apartments while in the hallway. For me, it isn't an issue per say, but it could potentially be irritating for some.
I personally don't trust the rest of the complex, based on what I've seen and heard going on over there. BUT, if you are looking to get into York Creek, I would highly suggest looking into one of the secluded areas, such as behind the 7-11.

Looks like the York Creek staff are writing positive reviews for this dump once again...
Any "positive"post about York Creek is a joke....trust me, I spent 5 years there.
Do yourself a favor, and spend a little extra money at a decent apartment complex.

I am NOT a staff member at York Creek. Just because YOU want to spread negative stuff about the place, doesn't mean that everyone who comes on here is going to. I am just being honest. I have had a good experience at York Creek. I understand that some people haven't had good experiences and thats fine. I don't expect everything to be puppies and rainbows but jeez. The way some people talk about York Creek makes it seem like hell on earth. I don't understand why only negative experiences need to be documented. When looking for a place to live, I appreciate positive comments. Don't you?
