So we have lived here in 3 different buildings. The first one was when we just got to Michigan we were living with our friends it was a pretty good place to live but too many weird looking bugs and insects got into the place that was the worst! and spiders ALWAYS spiders!. Now the second place we lived on the middle level by ourselves pretty nice except there was always this noise when the heaters were warming up that was annoying someone even moved out because they couldn't take it!. In that second building there were A LOT of spiders they were always getting in somehow and they were fast! Otherwise that are was pretty calm and such good tenants and everything except for the select few if you know what I'm saying. Now this building we are living in has no privacy as the windows face road where people are always walking by and peering inside we have the noisest neighbors ever! they argue like crazy and there are 2 crazy loud mouth couples on our floor and people playing loud music every once in a while. There have been 3 shootings that I know of, 2 rapes, and I have heard of people's home's getting broken into and people stealing car tires and such, one time they even burned a car right in the drive way it just broke out in flames! at around 2am in the morning, The staff is nice and helpful and they give you the first couple months rent free if you make under what they charge you depending on how much you make per week or hour or day I'm not really sure about that There are 2 dryers and two washers per building 12 rooms per building. People are constantly ringing the buzzer because they "forgot their keys" luckily the eldearly lady who lives next to me always goes out to see who is at the door and I have seen one other person who does that too. The buildings pretty much all look the same a kid got lost and couldnt find his way back home to his building because the placing of the buildings confused him. Most of them have different colors but still I can see why he would be confused. It's affordable and close to walmart like less than a mile close to 7-eleven close to 5th third back close to best buy close to mcdonalds its like a mile to 5 miles close to anything I mean seriously you can just walk if you arent lazy I see a lot of people running around here doing exercise so it's good for that! there is a park very close to us things are close i think you get the point.

So anything that makes apartment life crappy is here at the festering hold of York Creek. You've got pests, sanitation, privacy, noise, and safety issues, but at least you're close to Walmart and McDonalds. There's 2 names worth noting. A store with the same kinds of business practices as York Creek, and a place that passes off flavored fat as food. But it IS flavored so well, and so cheap that you just can't pass up a dollar for a 450 calorie double cheese or another buck for 300 calories of fries. Walk to Best Buy?? Don't buy anything. Best buy is expensive, and your chance of being mugged, beaten, and robbed go up with you flash that yellow Best Buy bag around a poor section 8 place like York Creek. I do enjoy walking up to the bar next to best buy though. Most YC people can't afford a $3 beer, so its a nice place to get away to. You can walk home drunk, and if you get mugged, you won't mind the pain or the loss of your wallet much, you're drunk!! You can even admire the graffiti on the buildings as you stumble home slightly inebriated.
Still, you won't be walking up to Alpine very many times. If the McDonalds doesn't give you a cardiac or make you too fat to walk, you can become a victim of a mugging or rape in the Walmart parking lot!! (Look up how high the crime rates are in a Walmart parking lot.) If Lady Luck has passed you by, there's still a chance you can be mugged or raped right here at home in York Creek walking off that Shamrock Shake and pushing a Walmart cart you stole to take your Bridge card welfare groceries home.
Plus there's always spiders. Everyone has them. The creek breeds insects and spiders thrive here because of that cesspool buffet of bugs. At least with cars being stolen and lit on fire, parking might not be an issue where you live, it is for me. I often park 2 or 3 buildings down, sometimes that's full, so I even go on the other end of the garages 80-120 yards away from my door.
This place sucks, all Land and Company complexes are like this. They're cheap, accept section 8 so you have tons of lowlifes that don't pay for their places and thus have no respect. Too many make a living in the cash industry, yea, I mean drugs and theft. Watch your back, and don't let anyone know you have any valuables. A gun under your mattress will help your piece of mind too. Don't keep anything in your car. This place is a breeding ground for crime, evil, sin, whatever you like to call it. All Land and Company apartments are. Steer clear. Pay more. You deserve somewhere safe to call home. I'm out of here in 13 days after the scariest year of my life.

You are so right. My lease is up in 2 months and I am counting down everyday. This apt. was smaller than my liking but I am 1 mile away from work so I said that I would deal with it. I stored 1/2 of our things in the garage and planned on switching it out when summer came. Well that didn't work as planned. All of our things were stolen in Feb. That included all of my summer clothes, all of the clothes and baby supplies I kept from my first born to give to my new born, and a 27 in. TV that didn't fit, my husband's tools, ect. I was pissed but I was smart enough to get renters insurance while living here. My car has been keyed. We had crazy neighbors, the woman would knock on our door and ask could she come in because she was getting beat up while her mother was in jail.??? The first time I did but then it happened way to much, I then feared for me and my children's safety (3yrs. and 2 months) I know someone that had all of their gas stolen from their car along with everyone else in the parking lot. Today and good friend/ co- worker called to tell me that her apt. was broken into. Her new flat screen (1wk old) and lab top is gone. She is a 20 year old girl, just out on her own (on the garden level) scared to go home. I hate this place.
Please Please listen and don't move here. It is not worth the money you save!
I don't even get that. I pay 709.00 due to my apt having a washer and dryer inside on the 2nd floor. I was told if I move to another apt I will still pay the same price. Those low cost deals in the paper would not apply to me. $709 is what I am locked into for every apt her on after useless I get one that cost more.
