I've been living in York Creek since May and I'm very impressed. I've lived in mobile homes and apartments for the last few years and I've always had problems with noisy neighbors, expensive heat payments, main windows facing other units (no privacy in those) and no space. We haven't gotten too much into the cold weather yet so we'll see how the heat thing goes with rent and such but every other problem we've faced with previous living places don't exist at York Creek! I never hear my neighbors...I thought we didn't have any until I saw them in the hallway recently. My unit faces the woods so I have absolute privacy and we have a loft, giving us cathedral ceilings and a very open unit, which is really good if you have too much stuff to fit in a "normal-sized" apartment.
Pretty much the only downside I've found at York Creek is certain people living around us. They'll smoke in the doorway to the building and prop the door open for their friends to go in and out. Though, our outside door was broken in the beginning (meaning, it wasn't a secure and locked door that they promised us)and we called it in to be fixed--it took a day or two but it was fixed completely.
Overall, it's a very good place to live if you like to stay inside and just enjoy a nice, spacious apartment.

Blind idiot? Dude, I actually live here. Do you live in York Creek? I highly doubt it.
I *can't* hear my neighbors and I know they're there because I see them in the hallways when I'm heading to and from work.
I also have friends that live in York Creek. We all have jobs. Plus, it's easy to find a parking space up front because everyone in my building works also, so...
You really need to get your facts straight man. I've had a great experience with this apartment (and the amazing space it provides) versus everywhere else that I've lived and your juvinile opinion of what you think this place is won't change that. It's a large community and yes, it is subsidized, so you're bound to have a few unsavory people. I haven't heard gunshots at all and generally, I feel safe here.
Don't insult another person's review until you give your own experience actually LIVING in the place in question.

I'm calling you out. You're a f-ing liar. If you can't hear your neighbors, you live in an empty building. Open your windows, listen for the gunshots. If you pay attention, half of the building faces away from the parking lot, the other half doesn't. Don't tell people you have privacy when there's a 50% chance they won't. Higher really as the rears of some buildings face sidewalks and roads. The apartments ARE 'normal-sized' There's nothing special about york creek except the abundance or low lifes that have the government pay for their section 8 housing. Maybe you'll get a good price on drugs from one of your many neighbors as most don't work and just laze around and deal to pass the time. YC is a cesspool for crime, enjoy your stay there, I hope you don't have your car, garage, or apt broken into by one of the many great people living there.
If you're not a york creek staff writing a positive review, than you're just some other blind idiot.
