The first glance and Charter Oaks is beautiful. After you live here a year, you will think otherwise. First: The apartments are very tiny and you can hear everything from the people around you. If you live in the front, like us, you can hear people running up and down the stairs - all day long - and slamming the front door. Second: If you have a complaint about a neighbor, mgmt. will do nothing. We have a neighbor that would fight with her boyfriend ALL THE TIME and cry. We called the police a few times and she would never come to the door. This went on about 3 months and then one day the couple was moving out and their mother was moving in (note: subletting is not allowed here). Although this was against lease policies, we figured if the mom was a better tenant - great! We were wrong... not only is the mother worse and has parties all night long, but we also are speculating that this household is the reason that we woke up one morning with our vehicle severly vandalized. Mgmt. did nothing and still has taken no action against the other tenant. Third: Laundry rooms are not kept up. In the winter, they are extremely cold and it is unpleasant to do your laundry. In the summer, the floors are covered in dead ants. I guess it is better that they are dead, but come on... anyone ever hear of a machine that can suck them up' I have actually swept them out at times because I don't want to stand in them and do my laundry! Fourth: The swimming pool will be closed when the person hired to monitor guests doesn't want to work. Also, it has to be SUNNY and 75 for it to be open. This means that even on 90 degree days when there is an overcast, NO POOL! Fifth: Sidewalks will stay icy all winter and a nice big bucket of salt is left for tenants to use! NOT MY RESPONSIBILITY! Other than this, if you can also handle the teeny boppers who flood the pool area and drive through the complex at 50 mph, I guess you would call this a nice place to live' We are a young family with 2 young children, however, we still do not like all the commotion and booming radios. Not a very 'family' friendly complex - more like a college complex.

The laundry room in my building (7) is always clean and well kept. Also, the sidewalks have always been clear of snow and ice except for the water ru.noff area. They barricade that area off
