We have been living in charter oaks since august of 2005. Its not as bad as everyone is saying it is. Every apartment complex is going to have its ups and downs. THEY ARE APARTMENTS, THEY ARENT GOING TO BE SOUNDPROOF. I like living in charter oaks because the maintence is very quick and efficient. Nothing has really broke in our apartment. only the toilet was broken since the day we moved in. Finally it sprung a leak and i had to call maintence. THe guy argued with me telling me that theres no way it was broken since the day we moved in, that no one would install a toilet wrong, well they had to replace it and he looked at me after about an hour of messing with it, and told me i was right, it was broken from the get go! I guess at least he admitted he was wrong and i was right. It is a little noisy in here, u can hear just about everything thats happening in the hall way, and your neighbors upstairs. I swear they are vampires they stay up all night and u dont hear a peep out of them all day. Whatever though ive gotten used to it over time. A few complaints i really do have though, are the carpets are very very cheap and they were used carpets when we moved in. Now the office is telling us that we have to pay for the carpet because the average life on apartment carpet is 7 years. well it was 2 years old when we moved in, and we've been here for nearly 3 years! The closets constantly fall off the track and one of them fell and hit a chair and has a huge hole in it and now we have to replace it. The toilet paper roll was always too small for the toilet paper i bought, so that was irritating. Other then that i have no more complaints, parking is always good, they keep the grounds looking nice most of the time. Oh and one more thing, Make sure you keep your car doors locked.. My boyfriends car got vandelized, someone threw food all over the inside of it, like noodles and spices and stuff. Real mess to clean up. Still dont know who did it. If you looking for cheap apartments, these are the ones!

charter oaks is a rip off and I had a 05 suzuki crotch rocket stolen right out of the parking lot. matience tried to walk in on me when i was in the shower and they wouldnt leave my house. they tried to take pictures of my children in diapers. this place is horrible and the management is even worse especially the girl with the freckles

i agree with the majority of this review. you get what you pay for. i have lived in for 2 years, and besides a few minor issues i don't have many complaints. certainly not luxury living, but not bad for someone on a budget.
