I lived in the Belcrest from 90-96, and now again starting in summer 2004. I read the related comments here and find them quite unfair, many stemming from specific disputes with mgmt but not reflecting the overall living conditions at this apartment.

Granted, some of the apts have seen better days, but mgmt ALWAYS cleans and repaints them for new tenants. I found the experience of moving there in July 2004 eased immensely by the helpful maintenance staff, experienced at moving tenants in and out quickly and efficiently. On the Monday after moving in, I typed up a list of eight items that needed to be fixed in the apartment and by day's end, seven of the items were fixed, the eight finished about a week later. They also helped me get parking on the site within 6 weeks of moving in.

All in all, I find the mgmt to be courteous, professional, no nonsense, and fair. With such a huge clientele (12 floors, 10 units on each) and traffic (moves occurring at the start of every month, not just summer), there are boutn do be glitches and some disputes. But after much time spent here, I recommend the Belcrest and wish that more tenants who have had good experiences would contribute to undue this unfairly low rating.
