At first I thought this place was wonderful. The problem started with mold forming in the closet ceiling from water dripping, and damaging my things. Maintenance was called and the ceiling was fixed. The same problem came back the next year. This time the water was coming through the paint in the living room wall, leading to the floor, all around the front door. (in a big circle) maintenance was called, a hole was knocked out of that wall and a pipe was bandaged with "pipe insulation". my carpet ended up having a mildew smell and they cleaned it. The next year the same thing happened again! I ended up being told that there was a problem with the pipes sweating in my apartment and "if you've ever lived in a place with air conditioning you would know that". I was secretly told by a repairman that the apt I was in was never intended to be an apt, instead it was meant to be an office along with the rest of the units on my floor. I ended up having to move all of my furniture into the hallway so that they could replace all of the carpeting. The next year it came back and it was the entire floor this time. All of the residents on the floor had leaking pipes. I knew because there were huge circles around everyones front door and I would constantly see maintenance. I talked to a neighbor and was told that she moved to a different unit because of the same problem. I asked management to just transfer me to a different unit because I had HAD IT. I started to see tiny bugs crawling from the mold in the closet. I had to throw all of things away that got wet because the bugs were so small. They treated the situation like I was a new resident and asked for proof of employment and income verification and wanted more rent for the next apt. It wasnt even a bigger apt or anything it was just 2 floors up. If that was in my budget I would have signed a lease for it the first time. I decided to just move out all together because they didnt even care about my situation. I found another place afterwards and got all my moving fees together in cash. The day that I was going to sign a new lease elsewhere, the jeffersonian had my brand new MonteCarlo towed from my parking spot because the tag showed SEP and it was OCT 5th. I never let my tags expire but since I was getting brand new insurance, I had to have my new address on my license before doing so. I was on my way to take care of all of that in literally five minutes. My car was towed with over $700 cash in it. And I was unable to get the cash out of it for three days. The guy would not let me in my car to get the cash so that I could pay the $300 towing fee. I kept calling the corporate office of the jeffersonion thinking that SOMEONE in charge could do SOMETHING but nobody was on my side through this whole ordeal. I ended up being offered the transfer to the new unit for no additional cost but buy then, I didn't want to have anything to do with them ever again. I was there for 5 years and never paid rent a day late or caused any problems. I could have maybe gotten through this if I wasn't treated so terribly by nonchalant management and supervisors. Not once did anyone apologize even for inconvenience. One friendly maintenence man quietly showed concerned which is more than I can say for anyone else associated.

I have lived at the Jeff for several years and I have found that I as well as other residents feel that we have have nothing but kudos for the building. I know that the staff and management go out of their way to make sure we are happy living here .
