I really enjoyed living at the Kales in the heart of downtown Detroit. It was a caring community of friendly people. They take good care of each other and generally look out for one another. I will miss living there.

The Kales - not luxury
Disclaimer: I'm picky and have high expectations. I pay more for quality. Honestly, I wanted to love this place. It s hard to botch something w/ as much potential as the Kales, but consider it done - and I have one of the nicest apartmentsā¦Ā See More >anonymous

LOVE the Kales building
My boyfriend and I moved from out of state and fell in love with the Kales after touring on a friend's recommendation. We're both teachers, so we don't have a lot of extra money, but it's worth it to us to pay a littleā¦Ā See More >anonymous

YOU WOULD BE A FOOL TO MOVE IN THIS PLACE!
This place has nothing nice about it. The parking is not secure. Indigents are able to freely walk in and out of the garage and due to the random visit by the indigents, several cars have been broken into, windows busted and items stolen fromā¦Ā See More >rebea1

Kales is the best location downtown
The Kales is a little expensive, but if you are living downtown, it is no doubt the most secure and convenient building downtown. There are minor annoyances that you will have any where you live, but the walls are sound so you don't hear tooā¦Ā See More >anonymous

Kales
The building is not terrible...but not great either. The in-house management is good, but they are very restricted by the Indy management (owners). Here are some of the issues I noted while residing at the Kales: the gym in the building isā¦Ā See More >anonymous

A nice building with some small problems
I am generally happy with Kales. I lived there about a year and a half. I never experienced some of the problems people are talking about. My windows were fine, I never noticed any draftiness. The few problems I had was with the washer/dryer. Aā¦Ā See More >c1schnei

Great place to live
I really find it hard to believe that there are so many dissatisfied residents in this building. I have lived here for a year, and every person that I have met that lives in this building loves it.

The staff is friendly, theā¦Ā See More >anonymous

Kales--Great Location...and that's about it...
Let me begin by telling you that there is absolutely no better address to live than the corner of Adams and Park. The neighborhood is fantastic, the park is a great place to hang out, and you even get to know your local homeless people.ā¦Ā See More >vinylviXon69

New....But nice????
I have never had such an incompetant management staff work for such a nice building. A lot to offer if you do not mind the offerings to not be adequate. A ton of promise to never be delivered. The management has nothingā¦Ā See More >anonymous

Poorly renovated, even worse management.
Lived on the top floor (18th floor) for 13 months. 12 foot arched windows with no shades & extremely drafty. Ceiling leaked with even light rain. Water pressure minimal to none most days. Washing machine/drier combo broke 2nd month, 2 more months to fix it.ā¦Ā See More >Thomasbrooks25

Loud neighbors, drafty windows, and bad management.

Great Building - Management is another story
They did a nice job refurbishing this building. It's in a great location. Good parking (although the City of Detroit that owns the parking deck has been dragging out the refurb. of the deck). That's the end of the good news. ā¦Ā See More >anonymous

Good place to be in downtown Detroit
I looked at several places before settling on Kales. While there has been turnover in management, I have found the new office staff to be courteous and professional. The occupants of Kales seem to be mainly young professionals working downtown and I have not hadā¦Ā See More >anonymous
