It can't be underestimated how inconvienient it is to move in and out of this place -- they literally won't allow moving vans into the gated parking lot after 6PM, and you're not allowed to use the cargo elevators after that time either. You're not allowed to carry anything in through the lobby that requires two people -- even if you're not actually moving and it's just a new table or mattress. There's one nice doorman, but there's a few crochety old doormen that make coming and going awkward -- they're so rude and cold that it literally gets to the point where you both avoid eye contact. Even though they see you every freaking day, if you forget your pass card ONCE they sometimes refuse to open the door for you. I've knocked on the glass and been flat-out ignored by an old bag sitting four feet on the other side pretending I don't exist. But as soon as you leave your car out front for a two seconds they jump out of their chair to yell at you. It's a decent apartment building, but the management makes the whole experience suck. Yeah, and lots of marijuana smoke in the corridors. The only thing that was better than average was the sound insulation -- hard concrete floors so you rarely hear your neighbors. It's on the outskirts of the developed part of downtown Detroit, so it's not always safe at night, but anyone that chooses to live in downtown Detroit obvoiusly knows that already.
