It has been wonderful living here for the last few months and I intend to stay here for the next couple years probably.

The Lafayette Towers are some of the best apartments in Detroit proper if not the metro area. The doormen are courtous (wow real doormen in uniforms!) The apartment are beautiful and in excellent condition. I have a spectacular view of downtown and all the amentities I need. In addition the building has solid plaster walls so I never hear my neighbors.

Add on top of that that it was designed by the famed modernist architect Mies Van Der Rohe in the 1950's with modernist design details like floor to ceiling windows (and 9' ceilings too) and custom floor to ceiling doors which are really interesting looking, and sliding doors the shut off the kitchen and you are really living in a work of art. And a work of functional art too. (It even has an old rotary telephone built into the wall in the kitchen, and it works!)
