I have lived here over 10 years and am ashamed how far we have fallen. Every day this week I have been late for work because the elevator was not working. Finally on Friday after 20 minutes, even though I have had a heart attack, I had to walk down from the 21st floor and was late for work again. It seems like only 1 elevator is working and they do the trash in the morning when everyone has to go to work and the guy doing the trash holds the elevator on each floor. My rent has continued to go up and I am getting less service!!! When I came home from work, I managed to catch the elevator and there were a couple lowlifes in the elevator looking homeless, They were asking me how much I paid for rent and said they were moving in. Great!!!! We must have some pretty stiff rules for moving in. So much for our historic building and area. Seems like new ownership could care less about our history.. Time to move and let the slum lords finish turning our once great building into the flop house they seem to want.

I lived at this apt complex in 2002-2004, when it was managed by the Habitat Company. Never, ever did we have problems like you're describing. I now live in the Indian Village area (Parker & Agnes), and am very happy where I am - rent is competitive, infrequent rent increases, and good quality staff with secure parking - drive by and stop in, you'll be glad you did - I am.

A group of us have met several times with owners/management with regard to some of the very things you have issue with. I too was ready to throw in the towel but I believe through those communications we are begining to see some steps toward the quality of life we were used to. I have loved my home for many years and would hate to move, but we must let management know certain issues will not be tolerated while paying for services that should not continuously be interrupted. We have a voice, be sure you use it. Trust me this property does not want to lose it's quality tenants. Hang in there!

The previous response makes me laugh as it is hilarious. The group that met with the management at LT keeps telling their story over and over and over again. The owners and management couldn't care less. They are sucking the dollars out of the building just before they default on that mortgage just like they did with the other four properties they owned - Penobscot Building, First National Building, Cadillac Tower, and Alden Park. Ask Larry Charfoos, an attorney at the Penobscot Building, how he liked their ownership and management prior to the mortgage forclosure.
